Oliver Twist was adopted in December, 2018. Here he is with his new family! 
This gentle giant was transported from Kentucky as an owner relinquishment. He was spending way too many hours in a crate and his owner did the right thing by giving him a new lease on life. He loves to wrestle and play with other dogs. Not much of a runner, but he will give chase on occasion. Oliver Twist is very lovable and adores being petted, rubbed and scratched. He just wants to be loved back. If you like big bear hugs – this is your guy. 
He is a medium energy dog that would prefer to be in a home with lots of attention. Although he has not been tested with kids, I am positive he would relish in the attention and exercise elementary kids could give him. A home with small kids might not be ideal as he could knock over toddlers.
When I first got him, he would bark and attack my lawn mower. After correcting this behavior, he no longer does this. Oh, I hope you like America’s Funniest Home Videos because Oliver Twist has been caught watching the “Dog Park” segments. Hilarious!
Because he was crated much of the time, he is learning about toys and play. When he is content on his own, he likes to gnaw on Nylabones. He will play fetch but sometimes on his own terms. I have seen him chew on stuffed animals and has been known to chase a tennis ball once or twice. His play may increase as time goes by but we can never be certain.
Regarding crate training, now that he has discovered his freedom from the crate, he is asking for higher value treats before going in. Once in his crate, he is quiet. We are working on re-crate training. This lovable lug will be available around November 7th.
