Happy was adopted by his foster home in August, 2018. Here he is at his new job!

Happy is just that, an extremely happy dog! He does everything with exuberance. He aims to please, loves people, he is very treat driven and toy driven. Happy is crate trained and settles well once crated. Happy has good recall, he knows sit, down, come, give, and no. He LOVES playing fetch, it takes a good 25 minutes of some serious fetch to get him winded! This dog has energy and like most dogs, requires daily excercise, he will likely do well with an active owner(s), he would make a great jogging buddy. Happy can be classified as a high energy BC with herding drive. He has been solid with strangers thus far but I want to start walking him on leash and testing that further. He is going to require an active home with previous dog training experience. Does not appear to have any health issues. I do think he would be good at agility too.

Happy is getting along well with other dogs, he occasionally resource guards, so toys, treats, and his food. He responds well to verbal corrections from Barb & I, he stops immediately. He has learned to communicate better with other dogs through socializing with our pack. He does play well with individuals, and he continues to improve with interactions with our pack, so I am hopeful that he may be paired with another dog in an adopted home, but it will need to be the right fit. Happy was shadow chasing frequently when he first arrived at our home in December. I am “happy” to report that he now knows to go find a toy to play with and chooses that on his own without any more re- direction from us. Happy initially ignored the cats in our home but now is engaging them with appropriate gentle playful gestures. He is a delight to be around.

Happy will require an adoptive home with Border Collie experience. Let's find this boy a job!
