Bernie was adopted in February, 2014. This is what they said about their experiences with GLBCR: "We brought Bernie home with us this evening, and he is settling in nicely - even with our cat! Many thanks for your help and information during the application process. Everyone with GLBCR has been incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Most impressive is the commitment you all have for the welfare of the dogs you shelter and foster. We will honor that commitment by providing Bernie with a safe and loving home for hopefully many years to come!"

Bernie is still new to GLBCR, so we're still getting to know him. He was picked up as a stray, but has nice house manners, so we believe he was someone's pet. Bernie is a very nice dog. He would love to sit at our feet, or curl up next to us for a good nap all day long. He’s a very quiet dog too. He’s smart because he knows he can chase our cats when we’re in the shower. He doesn’t want to hurt the cats, but I think he either wants to play with them or make them run. When he’s caught, he calls off easily and doesn’t make another attempt. Bernie will deliberately come and stare at us when he needs to go outside for potty. He hasn’t had a single accident in our home, nor in his crate. Bernie is a couch potato! He loves to snuggle up with us ALL THE TIME! He’s really quite the lazy, laid back gentleman.

Bernie won't available for adoption until we have him evaluated by our vet. The shelter vet identified potential dysplasia in his right hip, so we want to make sure he's fit before he finds his forever home. He has an appointment in mid-January, and we will update his website as soon as we know where we stand.
