Skye is very friendly to dogs and to people (we go to the dog park in Northville regularly). I also understand that she is good around cats and children. She loves to play ball or chase the leaves and enjoys a cuddle or a tummy rub. In the evening she settles down quietly.

We don't have a fenced yard but she will come out with me when I am trying to clean up the yard and stays with me, although she likes to wander around. I usually do a bit of weeding, then kick a ball to her to keep her happy and busy. She isn't great on the leash and gets a bit distracted by leaves, squirrels, anything that moves but we are working on that. I don't think that her previous owner did much with her so we are teaching an older dog new tricks! To be honest, as long as she comes to me when I call her and understands "no" (which we don't have to use very often) I am happy.

My mother (92) lives with us and enjoys our two dogs (border collie and bc/mix) and Skye stays with her and our dogs when I go to work (part-time, so I am not gone longer than 5 hours). Skye started in the crate and wasn't happy, so she sleeps on the floor by our bed and is very content. She is thoroughly house-trained and let's me know when she needs to go out (although that is sometimes just to play).

Skye has a return visit to the vet on November 30, just for a check up, so I don't want to move her to her forever home until after that. The vet commented on what a nice dog she is when he first met Skye the day after she came to me. I totally agree - she is friendly, affectionate and playful and seems to get on with everyone and everything.
