Clifford was adopted in February, 2013 by a former GLBCR adopter and long-time friend of the rescue. We're very glad our "big red dog" got to stay in the family!
Clifford is a great young dog, probably around 3 or 4. I named him for Clifford, the Big Red Dog. He still has that puppy look in his beautiful eyes. If you look closely they are different colored brown.

I suspect the first part of his life wasn't the best. If you raise a hand with something in it, he dives for his crate. And he makes it clear he doesn't want to come out. He's been so attention starved he tries to crawl in your lap and he's way too big for that. It' hard to scold him for that but he needs to learn to sit good boy.

Clifford is a very submissive dog, loves tummy rubs! He gets along with all my dogs, even Mr. Grouch. He's OK with kitties as long as they don't run. A quick little kitty chase is fun. He's good in the house, mostly just follows you around and lays on doggie beds. He's really laid back. I cannot get him to play with any toys, I don't know if he never had any or what. He does love to tear around the yard with my younger dogs. The few times I've let him out of the fenced yard he comes right back when called. He absolutely HATES car rides. I'm still working on that.

Clifford is very treat motivated and takes them so very nicely. An obedience class is a must with this boy. It will build his confidence and help him bond. Clifford loves older children (10+) but has not been exposed to younger ones. He really needs a home with a lower level of energy. Too much commotion sends him to his crate. He is not comfortable with his collar being suddenly grabbed.

I hope I'm not chasing you away, he's a *wonderful* dog. He's a diamond in the rough and maybe you will be the one to discover his brilliance.

Clifford has had lots of travels and adventures in his life but is now ready to settle down with a family. This boy is a real love and gives the best hugs ever!!! He is working on building some confidence, and had been described as "bright and willing."

A beautiful, friendly red like Clifford will not be with GLBCR long so get your application in if he sounds like a good fit for your family.
