Update: Suzette was adopted in May, 2008.
A year later, her new dad writes: ""I adopted Suzy at the beginning of my last year of school in Lansing. She was a joy to have around, especially during finals – she
could sense when I was getting stressed and would always offer kisses or
comic relief to lighten the mood. Suzy and I explored the greater
Lansing area, seeking out parks and nature trails where we could run.
"At the beginning of this year Suzy and I made the long trip to
Portland, Oregon, where I plan on starting my professional career. The
trip was long and the weather could not have been worse. Suzy was a
wonderful copilot, sleeping in the back seat on a makeshift doggie bed
composed of two duffle bags full of clothes, or riding up front, curled
up in the passenger seat.
"Despite the 3,300 miles spent on the road she
still hops in the car every time the door is open... It has been fun to watch Suzy come into her own as she becomes
more confident in the security of her living situation.
"She is much
more energetic than when I first adopted her. While she is still wary of new dogs she has befriended my upstairs neighbor’s English Setter, who wholeheartedly reciprocates.
Life is going well for both of us and I look forward to enjoying
Suzy’s company for many years to come."
