Hi! My name is Ricky and my foster mom says I’m a goood boy! I love to hear her say that. When I first arrived at my foster home I was one scared pup and was defensive. Foster mom started right in with firm calm words and I learned she wasn’t like my past owner. She gave me time to trust. I have a big voice and like to use my growls when I play with my toys. I use it to alert mom if someone is in the yard or i hear neighbors . . .Mom says I’m a busy body.

Mom laughs at me a lot she says I am a ham . I have big brown expressive eyes … mom says she can tell when I’m confused and when I’m too wound up. She says “settle down” and I know I need to chill for a couple minutes. I know how to do that too! I also know how to sit, wait, go lay down, come here, go outside and my name. What are you doing means I shouldn’t be sticking my nose in the garbage.

Ricky wants a forever home and needs room to run and wander in fenced in yard, he needs a home that includes him in everyday home life. He wants and needs to be close to his loved ones and lay at their feet. He often puts his head in your lap for a hug. He is very tender hearted as someone was very tough on him. His heart is broken if he is yelled at. NO! Strikes fear in him and makes him hide. It is extremely important that his people understand that, kids and adults, he tries so hard to do as asked or what he thought you wanted. He is still puppyish-in a bigger than puppy body and isn’t exactly light footed yet.

Ricky loves to ride in the car, go for walks ,he likes cats and gets along very well with other dogs. Kids the age of 8 or older seem to enchant him and he will play ball. Ricky is ready for his new life with his forever family.
