Sandy was adopted in May, 2019. Here she is, happy again, with her new humans!
Sandy had a spa day at the groomer -- isn't she a pretty girl?
Sandy is a beautiful Collie mix who came from a rural home in Virginia. After the loss of her owner she was relinquished to GLBCR. She is a very sweet girl who has been grieving the loss of her previous home/owners. She doesn’t whine or cry as much any more. She is ready to move on. She is learning how to have fun in her new life. She is playing with toys more, and is particularly fond of the toys that give out treats if you fidget with them long enough. She does not see any reason to retrieve a ball or Frisbee though. Sandy is house trained and now has a strong bark signal when she needs to go out. However, she is still confused between grass and carpet so she stays out of the carpet areas of the house.
Sandy is in her element outside, and enjoys going for walks. She can be energetic and playful, and may pull pretty hard with her leash because she wants to run around. She definitely needs a lot of space to run or a secure fence. She came from a farm with chickens (that she never bothered), so perhaps she would be a good guard dog for your chickens? She jumps with pure delight when she hears the sound of a tractor!
Sandy needs a new owner who will be her buddy. She loves attention and wants to play with her human. She misses/wants/needs a best friend. If you want to meet this lovely girl, let Sandy approach you at her pace. She is cautious but friendly. Once you have a bond with her, Sandy will be your best dog ever. She is very protective of those she loves. she is loyal...your friend forever.
