I am a typical adolescent Border Collie puppy. I am full of energy, & I loooove to be outside fetching my ball. If I could, I’d do this all day long! Once I learn how to catch a frisbee, I’ll be willing to trade off back & forth between balls & frisbees. Sure, I’ll be fine inside; I’ll just play with my inside toys or have a good chew. I may look like a full-grown dog on the outside, but in my brain I’m still a busybody impulsive puppy. I am good in my crate, and this is where I need to be when you aren’t able to supervise me, because I will still chew on stuff I shouldn’t. I’m pretty good about going outside to go potty; just remember when I get into a new environment, I may backslide a little, and you’ll need to help me be better. Once I get comfortable, I will “talk to you” to let you know when I need to go out. I like kids, but I prefer older kids because they have an idea about how to play with me. Little kids make funny noises & movements, & that can make me a little nervous.

I do know a few things, like “sit”, “down”, “settle”, & “crate”. I’m not very good, yet, at walking on leash; I’m too busy trying to get places going high-speed. Our relationship & my obedience will most definitely benefit from us taking at least one training class together.

AI am a complex kind of guy who will appreciate an active lifestyle full of exercise of some sort. I haven’t tried any dog sport yet, but I’m told I may really like something like Flyball or Agility. I’ll be interested in trying any new activity with my new owner! I have been with other dogs just fine. When I was at the dog park & there was another dog there, I was more interested in my ball than the other dog. But cats? What are those? I’m not sure about them.

My coat is soft & luxurious - so I’m told - and people like to pet me & feel it. I’m not at all ashamed to say I am very handsome. I weigh (40) pounds, but I may gain a little more weight as I mature. Oh! And it’d be best if the person who adopts me has Border Collie experience, because I am the real deal, which means people who don’t understand our breed won’t “get” some of my special quirks. Especially like my classic Border Collie stare.
