Fergy is a young, sweet, energetic girl who needs direction and a job. She is learning the routine from her foster siblings and is now fairly calm in the house following you from room to room. Although not a big snuggler, she is beginning to curl up on the couch next to me as she becomes more comfortable in her surroundings. One of her favorite things to do is get up on her hind legs with her front paws on my windowsill to watch the birds, squirrels and other critters outside. If these critters are in the yard, she will chase them relentlessly so this girl needs a bit of redirection. She does have fairly good recall until she spots a squirrel, rabbit, etc.

Fergy enjoys playing with toys on her own; she tosses them in the air or lies on her back and wrestles with them. Her favorite toy is a squeaky cupcake. Whether it is a speedy game of chase or a whopping wrestling match, this girl loves to move and play. Tug of War is always popular with Fergy.

Fergy has been learning her house manners such as not getting up on the counters, not jumping off the end tables, etc. She is doing much better than when she first came into foster. Upon arrival, she used her mouth a lot biting at your hand. As a stray, I think that was how she was communicating with the other dog she was found running with. Her mouthiness has gotten much better. Initially, she would not let me touch her feet at all (mostly the back ones). She also did not want to be touched on her backside. This has improved immensely and now I rub her feet and can perform a proper "butt scratch". I think secretly she is starting to enjoy it.

An ideal household for Fergy would be an active adult or couple or a family with elementary school age kids. Fergy has tremendous potential and might be a great agility dog as she is a quick learner and fast.
