Champ came to me from a home who kept him outside in a small pen for the past 3 years of his life.

He knew no commands coming to my home. He learns fast and has already knows several commands now. He is a very sweet and endearing boy that likes to please. He wags his tail whenever he sees us or my dog. He is quiet in his crate and quiet through the night. After the first week or so I gave him freedom to roam off leash in my house .He often goes into his crate on his own to chill. He was not potty trained when he came to my home but is now. I take Champ and my dog on twice daily walks and he walks nicely on a leash. Champ is also a fantastic jogging companion. I take him jogging with me a few times a week.

Champ really likes people, children and other dogs when we approach them on our walks. He met the little 5 year old boy across the street a few days after I got him and he was very nice with him. I kept my eye on him at all times though since I did not know how Champ was with kids. Champ likes to chase the ball. He also gets along with my Border Collie Jack and respects that Jack is the boss. Champ is not food aggressive. I feed both him and my dog within 4-5 feet of each other. As soon as Champ is done eating, he goes into his crate to chill. My Border Collie does not like to play much but every night Champ engages with my dog and gets him involved in a nice round of puppy playtime. He really likes the female dog that lives behind us. Champ loves playing with toys and acts like a puppy when he plays with them.

Champ was very good and patient when we gave him his first bath. He also lets me brush him. Champ greets me when I come home and loves to hang around with his people for petting sessions. Champ is very agile. Rather than walking around my dog to come to me he will jump over him. I think he would do well in agility and/or herding activities. He gets along well with my daughter’s husky and greyhound when she brings them over. Champ likes car rides and will jump up in our SUV with no problem and ride with us in the back seat or crate quietly. Champ’s previous home disciplined him by yanking his collar so I am very mindful of this. He is very patient with me when I handle his collar putting his leash on however.
